Objectives and Improvements

overview

The primary objectives for this section are reducing traffic congestion, improving operational conditions, and addressing safety.

To meet these objectives, the improvements proposed along this section consist of 1) reconstruction and widening along S.R. 30 to provide three through lanes in each direction; 2) construction of a median barrier along S.R. 30 to control left turn movements; 3) reconstruction of the eastern limits of S.R. 30 to the S.R. 30 and S.R. 982 intersection in order to eliminate the existing bifurcation (the division of a roadway into two routes) between the eastbound and westbound travel lanes; and 4) signalization improvements at the S.R. 30 and Theater Street intersection extending the coordinated signal system established during the Section Q01 of S.R. 30 improvements.
